Little Buddy's Story

Hello! my name is John but you can call me Buddy or Gil, I have had buddy as my nickname as long as I can remember I'm even called buddy more than John! people say that I'm unbelievably positive and compassionate.  I have never been able to play outside like other kids but I don't  complained or felt sorry for myself.  Instead I'm  truly happy for the other kids and finds other ways to express my creativity inside and then share it with everyone else.

 I have a gastrointestinal motility disorder.  This is caused by the nerves and muscles in my digestive system which do not function in a coordinated way to move food within the digestive system.  This is a smooth muscle disorder.  I was diagnosed with this when I was 18 months old.  I'm  14 and still kicking!  Phoenix Children's Hospital has been so great to me, I know all the GI (gastrointestinal) doctors and nurses. I have made many friends in PCH (Phoenix Children's Hospital). I have not eaten food in almost 3 years now.The first year was the hardest, which was mostly getting used not eating.
